I am back at work today. A co worker noticed something different about me. OH yeah, my new glasses. AAANNND I look a little thinner too.

This morning I was thinking "one week ago today I was in surgery".

I'm scared I am losing too much too fast. Also I am cold all the time and I never get cold. I was always the 1 running outside with hardly any warm clothes on in the middle of winter. Things that make you go huumm...

Good luck first day back, take it easy & don't do too much.

The weight loss will probably slow down as you heal....you will start to get hungry more and until you get enough fills for restriction it's going to have to be your will power. Aka bandster hell.

Good luck to you. Keep us posted on your progress.

Good luck on your first day back at work. I too, was never cold, when I carried the extra weight. Now, as I am loosing, I get cold much more frequently, just like I was when I was thin! I think it's a great sign that I don't have the fat to insulate any more!Bring on the extra sweaters and gloves!

I am still wearing my coat in the office. Hard to get use to being cold, got to learn to dress warmer, lol.

That is great. I remember the day my pcp took me off my hbp meds, I danced out of the office that day! You'll get there.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
