First Time I Threw Up

Recommended Posts

So, today I had I had a small amount of food, baked chicken breast, mashed potatoes, green Beans, and some of the chicken got stuck and then it came back up!!! That was the worst feeling ever!!!!! I chewed my food like 15 times and still came back up. I guess I have to get used to my new baby...LOL!!! Tomorrow, I'm starting to work out on my Wii for about 10-15 minutes...So, glad that I am now able to eat solids...I still do miss some food, it didn't help that my mom made fried apple pies and fried chicken...I stayed strong, but I miss some of the things that aren't good for me. Does anyone else feel like this???????

chicken (well meat in general) doesnt work for me. I would go with a much more juicier meat maybe the thigh next time.

Chew 20-30 times.. see if the chewing more helps. and man what you had to eat sounds so yummy to me! ( still are darn liquids lol ) and no you are not alone... we all think of our old comfort foods I am sure.. I know I do from time to time.. just don't dwell it on, and quickly move on! :)

chicken is difficult I dunk mine in something like diet ranch or it goes for an elevator ride back up. I have just given up on steak never stays down even blended so I have a bite of my husbands and get the taste and thats better then 5 trips to the bathroom to get rid of it. Everyone grieves food in the begining ...

But when you are over it you look at it and it really makes you sick yuck greasy,to sweet , taste chemically (diet pop and stuff) and if you want a little you will be surprised how a mini candy bar is okay and you don't need a whole bar or two to fill you.

I use to take 3 Cookies at a time because the first 2 went down to fast and the 3rd one was the one I tasted now it's just a cookie and it better be this kind with nuts and warm and then I might eat it or not . The day will come when you look at others overflowing plates and realize that use to be you and you just can not imagine eating all that food. It is a process and you will get there

I know without a doubt chicken breast will not work for me unless stewed.

I always preferred the breast, but as I have gotten older, it had been harder & harder to get down.

From now on it will be cooked in crockpot, stewed or dark meat only.

Best of luck!

well, since you are 1 week and some out from surgery, i am betting you are still very swollen inside still. in my opinion, way tooo soon to try chicken and green Beans (unless your doctor ok'd you to progress to reg foods already).

anyhow, i would go slow on eating. chew alot but you may have just rushed ((eating too soon)).

all the best and congrats on your surgery :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
