Just because you can eat it ..doesn't mean you should .. You said you know so STOP. If you eat the amount they tell you to eat you will not be hungry.. Your head may be hungry your mouth may be hungry.... Everyone is different but 5CC IN A 10CC is more then enough fill for me. Anything over that I am be PBing everything...

Sometimes when we are learning the band we think it will stop us from eating it doesn't work that way. And if you get to that point with overfilling it is not pleasant to have reflux coming through your nose.

Eat what they tell you, stop when you are not hungry or it is gone and drink fluids 30 mins later and as often and as much as you want . Then eat the next meal when your stomache says you are hungry, It is a new process and you need time to learn it. Stay out of 7 11 or at least stay away from the hotdog counter.

Any carbed fast food should be eliminated. Better healthy choices, a small salad with vingar /oil and a broiled chicken breast would be better. Most hot dogs have lots of preseratives and fatty meats, also the starchy bread. Then if you put relish, catsup, mustard on it, lots of sugar may be involved. The band won't tell you what to eat!

Best wishes on better healthy choices.

My doctor says 3 oz of solid Protein and 1/2 cup low starch veggies and 1/2 cup fruit for lunch and dinner. If you can eat more than that you probably need a fill. I did not get restriction until 10.6 ccs.

I find the better I plan in advance the better my food choices. If I know I am going to be out until a time when I will start to be hungry I bring a healthy snack. This can be a low fat cheese stick, low cal/fat Protein Bar (think less than 220 cals. for at least 20 g of protein), low fat/cal ready to drink Protein shake, piece of fruit. Often at convience stores they have greek yogurt which would be a better option than a hot dog.

I had my first fill at five weeks post op and my surgeon told me the first fill really gives you very little restriction. I am experiencing just that. Think I will call for another. My head now can take good control Most of the time but this adjustable band is just for this reason. Call for a fill and don't feel bad. That is why we got the band vs other options. I agree that good food choices are still very important. Good luck to you!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
