Ok, so my stomach has been getting itchy. I Was also itchy where my c-section scar is. So, I Was scratching it and then I rubbed my nose and My finger smelled. I only scratched under my stomach where the cut/scar is. I have showered everyday since surgery so I am not dirty. I don't think this has anything Do do with the band. It's not even close to The cuts and holes they made. It looks like I have a few bumps on the scar. I have to go back to The ob but what the heck is up with that odor?! This is A first for me!

It is probably from moisture trapped in the folds. Can cause rashes/infections that have icky odors. Dry thoroughly and use a powder- baby powder does fine- just to make sure you're really dry there. Probably nothing to do with the band.

I think all the stuff they pump into you during surgery tends to leach out too.

That Lortab made my urine stink, tmi lol

Mine itches all around the port I put benadryl on it last night. It's not the actual incision but all around it and the other incision the little ones are ok. It seems to have a couple of bumps. I wonder if it was a reaction to steristrips, but it did not start right away.

Thank You ladies. Going to do this after I shower today. I normally lift up my stomach to dry under there. Maybe I haven't since surgery because I am sore. Thanks again for all the advice. I don't know what I would do without all this love and support!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
