You've got this. I know it is hard, it is so very hard. I am on day 5 of a strict liquid diet, and I am feeling weak today. I am having to dig deep and just stick to it, and I know you can too. I had to sleep the day away honestly, to try to get through it, and it worked. I know it's not the best solution, but I am doing what I can. It is definitely all mental. Just don't give up, you can do it!!!

My biggest problem is saying well I'll JUST START over tomorrow pre op diet is very important because yes you are shrinking your liver but this is the time to prepare your body you wont have another chance to try and prepare I've often thought the pre op diet isn't enough time. You need to want this. I cleaned out my fridge and mh cupboards to help keep from the temptation. you should do it too. Good luck remember this is a new life. It will get easier i promise

I wish I could clean out my fridge but the rest of the house would hate me lol but thanks for the response!

I did well pre-op and great after surgery these past 2 weeks I've been under a lot of stress and making horrible food choices. I had lost 90lbs since feb but I've since added on 7 lbs. you need to change your way of thinking now. The band is a tool not a complete fix. I have co workers who put on all the weight they lost because of their poor food choices. I'm aware of my poor choices and I sure as hell changed my ways today. The scale scared me :-/

Yes I'm so use to not thinking twice about eating something, I need to get that in check now. Also I think hearing from someone who had the surgery b4 tell me that she ate like a pig b4 surgery and didnt do the pre diet and she was fine had me thinking it was ok to cheat at little bit smh but only cheating myself.

Hey maybe you should try reading or something to get your mind off the diet. Are you on the post op diet or strict pre diet?

Preop lol Yes, reading does help. I figured the weekend would be much harder than the week because there is more down time. I have lost 16 pounds though, so that helps. I know I can get through this and so can you!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
