Typhanee 0 Posted October 27, 2012 5 days post-op & still having issues with pain in my shoulder from the lovely gas. I've done plenty of walking but the only thing that seems to make the pain go away is lying down. Heating pad helps a bit too. I'm also not a big fan of pain meds and actually had massive nausea in the hospital from them & the anesthesia. Help! Any suggestions?!?

Typhanee 0 Posted October 27, 2012 It seems to get a little better with each passing day. I was hoping to go back to work Monday (sit down desk job) but at this rate I don't know if I can even pull a half day. I've had the gas pain since day 1 post-op and that was the worst of it!!! Typhanee 0 Posted October 28, 2012 Thanks all for the replys. Just have tried to take it easy today. I did manage to make it to my daughters soccer game this a.m. and a quick trip to the store this afternoon. The rest of the day has been spent lying down. My shoulder started hurting @ the store so I layed down on a weight bench for a bit and it subsided. Got some weird looks but....Oh well!!! Tonight I've had the heating pad on and off of my shoulder and broke down and took a vicodin. No nausea, and feel numb.......except for the shoulder. GO FIGURE!!! Wasn't until my post op appt that I found out that left shoulder pain is actually caused by the tube running from port to band was causing irritation. It was so painful when I bent forward that I would see stars! Lots of horror stories about people having to remove band because of it, and for a minute I thought I'd be one of them. The pain lasted for a good two weeks. Occasionally I can still feel a tingle of discomfort . Putting heating pads on it helped a lot, ask your dr abut liquid or gel ibuprofen. I started a thread about this very subject a while ago. The input I received may help you too.
