Doreen14 0 Posted October 26, 2012 I had surgery on Monday 10/22 and so far all is going well. Feel better and better each day. Had a lot of gas but that is getting better as well. I do have a question. On the incision where they put the port is the most sore which I was told was normal. But it does have a red brown lost bruise around I hat is size of baseball. I do not think it is infected since I have no fever not hot to touch and nothing coming out of it. Was wondering if anyone else had something similar after their surgery... saguitard 3 Posted October 27, 2012 I had my surgery on the 25th, I wish I could pass this gas. My husband and daughters have been great. I only wish I could sleep in my bed and not in a chair.

I only wish I could sleep in my bed and not in a chair.[/quote'] I had terrible gas and thought they had put the port wrong . Tried everything but the only thing that worked for me was Gripe Water. The one that you give to babies. Helped a lot. Try it x
bandedsandi 29 Posted October 27, 2012 I was banded on 23/10, and the gas is really bad here too. What helps a little, I've found, is to balance on my feet, standing up of course, and to 'bounce' lightly on the balls of my feet, it does seem to bring a small measure of relief, helping to dislodge the air 'bubbles'... 1 lauradevans reacted to this

sylviau 125 Posted October 27, 2012 For the gas...what helped the most is walk walk walk! I thought it was crazy but it really helped! I walked every 30 min for about 10-15 minutes. Gas ex strips also helped a lot. It goes away eventually...just keep strong!
saguitard 3 Posted October 27, 2012 Thanks I will be so glad when the gas is gone. The pressure and pain is terrible. Can't lay on my back or either side. I have to sit up to get any hope of sleep.< /p>

Experience everyone was super professional... Nurses are taught to be a patients advocate so I wouldn't get too stressed. I really do hate surgery though... Putting your life in others hands... Sucks.
