Doctors On Li That Take Patients Without Insurance

I didn't realize how redicilous it can really be to find a doctor who will take on a new patient for post off who was banded in another state, and without insurance

My band slipped and worst feeling in life!!! I called around no one wanted really anything to do with me.. Finally spoke with a dr on Long Island where I was told I would have to go to the ER to get into their office..anyone know if this is common around here? Just seems complete nuts!

I'm supposed to get come rechecked in a month and they want me again to go thru the ER.. :/

If you don't have insurance, it might be that going through the ER is a way they can guarantee to try to get reimbursement.
