I'm doing much better today! I took it easy for the latter part of the day yesterday and have been just relaxing with my windows open today... enjoying the cool breeze coming in! My neighbors have their heater on! I'm like, WHAT?! Lol. They're crazy! It feels amazing!

Thanks for asking! <3

Yes, they have a nutritionist. If you're going through insurance, you have to meet with her twice, I think. I think you could probably schedule your own appointment with her, even if it wasn't required by insurance.

Hello,

I'm new here and I'm also going to true results for my surgery. I just finished my required visits for my insurance and I'm just waiting for my insurance approval. I want to know how were your experiences there?

I loved the staff. I was only there three times consult, EGD then surgery. The night before my EGD I didn't know for sure where to go so I was crying and crying and called the on call number and Dr Reilly personally called me. That was great!!!!

Hope that I don't need a lot of fills cuz I live in BR Louisiana

I've been there only a few times as well. Initial visit, a support group meeting then my EGD on Wednesday. I will say that everyone I have come into contact with has been so helpful. I was very impressed that Dr. Hollis was going to the waiting area to speak with the patients' families himself. When they put my IV in, it was the easiest, most painless IV I've ever had and the surgical staff was friendly & funny (before I was put out, LOL). The NP who led the support group meeting was so kind & easy to talk to. Seriously, I don't think I've ever been to any doctor's office where every. single. person I came in contact with was a pleasant experience. I haven't even been banded yet & I would have no hesitancy in recommending this office to anyone!

For those of you who were self-pay with True Results... do you mind sharing how much you paid? I'm in a situation where I've met my deductible for 2012, but waiting for insurance approval will give me a surgery date of February - facing my 2013 deductible. Now I'm having to decide whether to self-pay or wait it out & possibly end up paying more.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
