smbonier 26 Posted October 24, 2012 No matter what with weight loss there might be some loose skin. It all depends on many things. One of those things being genetics. Another being how much weight needs to be lost. And then the amount of excercise and toning you do. I am almost 25 and just was banded 2 weeks ago and was told that while there will be lose skin, it will not be as bad because the weight loss is gradual and because I am young. Just have to remember to work out and use some type of lotion (coca butter or some firming lotion). Also I have seen body wraps that are supposed to help; but at the same time I do not know how legitimate they are. Just think, no matter if there is loose skin; you will be healthier and feel better once the weight is off. That is why Spanx are amazing and I have seen after pictures of people in bikinis after WLS.

Mandylove 32 Posted October 25, 2012 Im 20 years old and am getting banded November 12th. My doctor said that the younger you are the more likely your skin is to go right back but it also depends on how much weight you loose. One of the things I read on here is if you put on the skin underneath your arm and it bounces right back then its likely it will retract Good luck on your journey! Rojasanoll 920 Posted October 25, 2012 Better to lose the weight and be healthy, then to worry about the lose skin. Best wishes on your journey.
smbonier 26 Posted October 25, 2012 How was Preoperation diet. I am Kind of worried About that I won't lie, it was emotionally rough. Physically I was not hungry and just made sure to keep drinking Water (or Powerade Zero) during the day. During those 2 weeks I really saw the unhealthy relationship I had with food; which I didn't think was as bad before I started it. But don't worry, you will get through it; you have to keep in mind the good that will come out after it. I can say now that I have been banded, some food doesn't even seem as appealing as it used to and food is nutrition and nothing else.
