Gone for Good Club - April 2006

Recommended Posts

Sus -

Sorry I missed weigh in last week and this week. Here's an update.

Last = 184 (2 wks ago)

Current = 181.5 (-2.5 in 2 weeks)

Boy has this slowed down :-(

Ah well - at least it's not moving in the other direction.....

Apparently the moderators and owner of LBT are in discussions about taking away our Edit and Delete functions. For now, you can only Edit your posts for 24 hours after it is posted. After that, no more Editing. So that means I cannot make this week's updates on the original pages. So, I have decide to just repost the pages below. If and when we get the Edit function back, I will move these to the original pages and ask the moderators to delete these two posts, as they will be redundant.

There are a couple of threads discussing this matter. Please feel free to hop onto them and add your two cents.

As I was adding new members to the list, I realized the phenominal amount of weight that Kimmcneely and Anillacookie have lost prior to joining the Club. I'd like to congratulate you both on your successes. Kim, you are only a few pounds away from your goal weight! Have you posted any of your before and after pictures yet? I'd love to see them!

I'll get you added to the main page as soon as we get our edit rights back!

What's your sister's name? And how did you lose her? Sounds like an interesting story.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
