Gone for Good Club - April 2006

Recommended Posts

OK I thought I was over being sick. Boy was I fooled. I went today and got my mani and pedi done in the pouring rain. BAD IDEA!!! Now I am coughing and all congested and achy again. Now I think I am running a fever as well. SIGH!! Hopefully it will all go away by this weekend. It has been over a week now I have been sick. Now John is sick as well. SIGH!!!

OK my goals for April:

Stay on track with Nutrisystem -- so far so good

Exercise for at least 20 min a day -- Nope none today

Drink at least 64 oz of Water a day -- Yup got that in

Lose at least 1 lb a week -- Don't think that will happen this week.

Penni - lotsa people around here are sick, too! Sorry you're having a hard time with it! A guy I work with had a cold and cough and was just checked into the hospital for pneumonia. Take Care of yourself and for pete's sake, stay out of that rain!

I have an "SV" this morning.... I am officially at my lowest weight since I had my second kid (13 years ago in 3 days). This is pretty exciting stuff! A while back I did Atkins and lost down to 184.5 where I stayed for approximately 1 day before I started gaining again. It was a really good one day though!

Today my weight for weigh in is 184. Yee haw! Ok, AND a side "NSV" - I went to Dillard's last night and bought a size 14 cute little white jacket - may wonders never cease!!!!! 14??????? Me thinks my big butt is still a little bigger than a 14, but hey - a jacket is a good start!

;)

Congratulation Kim, It's always a good feeling when you have those NSV's.

Penni--Take care of yourself, sometimes when we think it's over that's when it really hit's us.

Skye--So glad to see that you both are doing better, just continue to take one day at a time. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

April goals: lose at least 10lbs;

exercise 4 to 5 days each week; and

thinking positive thoughts about my body.

I go in for a fill on tomorrow which should give me the restriction I am looking for. After a fill, I have good restriction for at least 3/4 weeks and then all of the sudden I can eat about a cup in a half at each setting.

Weight loss for this week:

C218 (-2 this week):clap2: :clap2: I'll take it!!!

Hey julie in Getzville! Yep, it's really possible. Take it and run, because that rate of loss will slow dramatically at some point, then the real work begins. You are doing it! Yay you! congrats on your band.

I love all you gone for good-ers! (((hugs))) everyone!

Okay so not so hot on the weigh-in this week. I'm back up (as Paula cheers and gives a big sigh of relief! LOL) to 185.8. It's a fluke. I'll be back down into the 183's in a day or two. I feel the bloat and water-retention. I've been fighting a head cold, I think, and just feel blah.

So, this Sat is my 1-year bandiversary and I'm working on a good picture thread for that one. I'll be back down to 183 by then, for sure. It's all part of the weight loss game. Down a few, up a few, down again, then down a few more, then up....it's a dadgum roller coaster! LOL

Goals for April:

Curves 3 days a week

Minimum (3) 20 ounce bottles of Water a day. 4 is better, 3 is min.

Take my Vitamins Daily! (this has become a problem...)

Choose better foods daily. No junk. Junk just begats more junk. ;)

Happy Wed everyone! C 185.8 (-37.2) I have no idea what this week's loss/gain is....

Good morning everyone, and welcome to the first GFG Club weigh-in of April 2006!

It's another beautiful rainy day in Boise, Idaho. I think it's been raining for two weeks straight - very unusual for us, but I can hardly wait to see the explosion of color when the sun returns. Boise is usually filled with flowers in the springtime. As soon as it happens, I'll be out with my camera to capture some of the beauty to share with you all. We need an infusion of Spring fever around here!

I'm changing my weigh-in days back to Sundays, but I'll report here on Wednesdays as usual. Because of that, I have only a one pound loss to report this week. I'm dying to get on the scales today, but Dawg won't let me!! *laughs*

C 254 (- 53 total, - 1 this week)

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
