What kind or brand of Protein is everybody using. I can't do the Atkins anymore. Bought a raw protein but it is too grimy and pasty for my stomach. Well it actually doesn't get that far I throw up before I swallow.

To this day I still drink GNC's brand Lean shake Swiss chocolate. If you go in they should let you sample them. They come in strawberry, vanilla and Choc but I didn't like the others, just the choc. I also could tolerate, and I use that term loosely Isopure from GNC in grape flavor, it's like Kook-aid but has an after taste.

Hi Justbk,

I like Unjury too. You can get it online at their website or I noticed that Amazon.com sells it too. Recently I have been using a Sam's Club brand that I/we think is pretty good. It only comes in one flavor, kinda vanilla-like, and dissolves pretty well. The stats are:

Protein - 23g

Carbs - 3g

Fat - 1.5g

General rule of thumb (as told to me by my doctor) is single-digit carbs, double-digit protein.

so you have had a bad protien experience yuck...

There are several out there that are made just for bariactrics and they are actually quite good

There are two kinds of protien powders : milk baised and those that can be mixed into fruit juie or Water.< /p>

I personlly like the Bariactric Advantage powder that you blend with fat free milk.

There is also the Syntrax Nectar protiens wich you can also find at the bariactric advantage site. That is one you can mix intowater and it tasteslike juice.

They taste much better then the junk sold at nutrtion stores.

I've heard a lot about these I may have to give these a try, thanks for posting. I don't drink my calories often but on occasion like Sundays on the way to church in a hurry I will grab a shake instead of eating.

I would like to also add that the whey Protein from body fortress is 26 grams protein per scoop. Word to the wise, we don't need o eat really higher protein at 1 meal. Your body will only absorb a certain amount at a time. So example drinking a 50 gram Protein Shake at once is not so great. Smaller amount at a time works better

Ya. that is what the counter person told me at GNC. I bought Isopure pinapple/banana/orange all in one mix for my clear liquid stage and I like it. it's 50grams of protein and serving size is 2 scoops. I use 1 scoop at a time for a 25g protein. I do want to try Bariatric Advantage

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
