Eat To Live!

Recommended Posts

Hi Ken, I can't help you with your plateau, I was just banded 10/15 , sitting here drinking my Protein drinks.

I have been to your blog, but I'm on my phone so I'll check more out when I get on my computer. Just by what I read, you must be a Simpson's fan. My daughter talks to me in that Mc so & so talk.lol

I also have the Eat to Live book and we get him every weekend on pbs.

There's a lot of truth in what he says, but I have caught him in an untruth too. IMO, I don't think most people can live the rest of their lives eating like that.

Just like you can't live on any "diet" for the rest of your life.

Looking forward to reading your blog.

Good luck with your current stall and congratulations on your success.

Well Ken first of all welcome aboard. If you reached a plateau in your weight loss journey.Youre going to have to shock the body and wake it up.Change up your routine your exercise regimen.Or you could be naturally where you need to be weight wise.

I don't necessarily get caught up in the numbers on the scale as some may do.How your clothes are fitting. If you can see your toes now without moving the shed. Are you enjoying life. Those questions you must answer yourself. How does your girlfriend or significant other see you now.Dont forget that muscle weighs more than fat.so if you have been in the gym.kicking those steel plates around. Then maybe your weight could be stabilized by your muscle growth. One thing is for sure.Youre probably a lot better looking and feeling better now than ever before. All of us here hope that you are.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
