Needs Some Support

Recommended Posts

I'm in need of some support today! I ate 2.5 cups of frozen yogurt this morning for Breakfast after a fight with my husband.. I'm ashamed and have not emotionally ate in SO long. Brings back a lot of unhappy memories... :( just need some love today!

Get up, wipe off youself and have a really good rest of the day. Track your yogurt and make some good choices for the rest of the day. Nothing you can do about it now, it is done, and you realized it and although didn't stop it, acknowledged it. Tomorrow is another day.

;)

Yikes..... hate that! Well, it's done. I agree try to work it into your daily calories. I'd do an extra 30 on the elliptical!

Hope your day gets better!

Pick yourself up and dust yourself off. Bad choice - maybe. Life-altering? No. The best thing is that you recognized it as emotional eating. I was an emotional eater for years before I realized it! Each day brings about new choices. You have plenty of opportunity to "redeem" yourself :)

I agree with all of the above. Great job for recognizing it. now put it behind you and move forward. What's done is done. Don't look back, because you will only hate yourself and keep on doing at least that's how it happens with me. I ate ice cream and oreo Cookies. I felt myself falling back into my old habits and quickly recovered. I talk to myself and God and it really helps. So I wish you best of luck and keep us posted.

Frozen yogurt.....better than ice cream. 2.5 cups.....better than the whole container. You recognized that it was emotional eating, plus there too.... Sounds like you are starting to master this.

We are all human, we all have hiccups in our journey. Learning how to best manage those hiccups is the key and you are learning.

Continue on, talk with hubby, work things out and don't be so hard on yourself. I'm proud of you. I thing you managed the situation well. ((((hugs))))

What's done is done. Don't beat yourself up. Brush yourself off as that doesn't define you or your success and doesn't make you a failure. If you start feeling bad about it, it may make you get back into the emotional eating as well. So move on and do better the rest of the day.

If you are still stressed or upset, try going for a walk or do something with a friend to distract you from going down that path again.

Big hug!

We all have our days of habits that creep up at our vulnerable times. That is what makes us human and who we are. A new and glorious day tomorrow but also a moment to reflect on our emotional needs. Tough week for me because food is not going down so smooth this week, it's hard.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
