I have been suck to my stomach all day. Very nauseous and bad case of diarrhea. This is my post op day 5 and I'm still on liquids. I hope I am better tomorrow and there is nothing wrong with my band.

So happy for you ladyLeigh! I was banded Friday and the gas is the only thing bothering me. Careful, I have always known that hot or cold gives more gas! Dr said room temp! Ask about that all Dr's are different! Happy for you!!!

Well tomorrow is my day. It took me working 18hrs at work (should have only had to work 12 these past two days), 2.5 hours at Walmart, and a trip to CVS but I think I'm ready. Going to bed soon at I have to be at the surgery center at 6am. Good luck to everyone else being banded tomorrow!

It's nearly 3am and I'm up … nearly 1 day post-op … feeling good! Gas up in the left shoulder/neck area … some soreness around my middle, but the girdle they wrapped around me is offering a lot of support. Walking around helps, a good burp never felt so good! LOL! :D I have been taking my pain meds and following all of doc's orders … walking around, doing that breathing thing, using my pillow to get out a good cough, and so far I have gotten down a half cup of Soup, Water, tea, about a half cup of Protein Shake, and a grape sugar-free popsicle. Yum!

Thank God all has gone well … I think once this gas pain is gone I will feel much, much better! How is everyone else doing??

Congrats to everyone getting banded today!!! I will be sending prayers your way!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
