It's a lot of hard work to lose weight and then try and mantain it. When I get stuck in losing weight, I go back to my Protein shakes and light dinner salad for a few days. Fortunately, it helps get me back on track. A combination of some exercise and a change in eating habits work for me. I try and write everything that I eat, daily.

Best wishes

because what you overeat in (private) will show on the scale (or clothes being tighter). so if you overeat, its on you.

ps----if you fall off track, just keep going.

dont do any tricks.

just eat smart but think smarter.

I soooo needed this reminder to be mindful. Ate a few too many soy crisps yesterday, and realize I am better off to not have them around as I have difficulty not overindulging and slipping into bad habits. I think it is the crunch and saltiness that gets me hooked. Getting back on track today. Needed a kick in the butt, but happy to get your gentle reminder. That works too! ^_^

The scale reminded me yesterday! I've been eating like crap and its showing up. Have crept up 5# in two weeks! Ugh. My band is too loose because I had reflux. Going back in 2 weeks to have some added back, but until then--this girl is on the straight ad narrow!

Shrcumm, I couldn't have said it better! As someone who was banded in 2005 and has since been rebanded (1 week out), I can attest that the band is merely a tool. Hard work and good choices are a must to continue with successful weight control. It is so easy to trick your band and to eat past the band! If you fall off the wagon....dust yourself off and hop back on! Good luck and best wishes to all my newfound friends of the band!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
