wildrose1966 396 Posted October 21, 2012 Sure is..............I had them regularly until 4 weeks post op, they usually came on when I was sitting, went away when I stood up and started walking. (all my gas pains were in my left shoulder.)
kyrasgrandma 228 Posted October 21, 2012 I am only 2 days post op and my gas pain comes and goes. It is across both shoulders. My info booklet says it could last 2 to 3 weeks.
Duhs9919 17 Posted October 22, 2012 I had the type of pain you are talking about up until about 4 weeks out. It got so bad with the not being able to breathe I went to ER. Nothing was wrong. I found that eating really slow helped keep it from coming on. Mine was between my shoulders on my back. The only relief I would get was from the heating pad and funny enough Icy Hot. I still carry icy hot in my purse just in case. Good luck it gets better.
Summerrain 520 Posted October 22, 2012 Yes very normal. It's actually the diaphragm that causes the pain. The gas should have been expelled within a few days. I found walking around and deep breathing helped me relieve that pain when it hit.
