Anch 52 Posted October 20, 2012 Who was told to go on a specific pre op diet and who wasn't? I don't understand why some have to be strict and some don't...I know that in the end we all have to shrink the size of our liver, but why do some people not have to diet as long or at all? I have lost 20 so far in 2 months. I know a few of his patients who did 2 weeks liquids so I guess it really depends on the patient. I still have another month before surgery and I hope to lose another 5 by then.
FLORIDAYS 3,040 Posted October 20, 2012 If you linger on this forum long enough you will see lots of similarities and differences in all kinds of things... The most common is the pre op diet dilemma . I don't know why the drs differ... But from what I have seen its best when you find a surgeon you trust and follow his orders to a tee. 2 ☠carolinagirl☠ and fericito reacted to this

angelize 50 Posted October 20, 2012 low sodium chicken broth helped me a lot...a big can makes about 3 cups, hardly any calories, and it filled me up!!
fericito 138 Posted October 20, 2012 I think it just varies based on what the dr. believes, his/her experience, etc. Whatever your doc says follow it and you'll hopefully have a great experience!

We've all been through it and at the end of it you will get to meet a new side of you, the strong determined side. Make sure you congratulate her! 1 destynee1 reacted to this

Make sure you congratulate her![/quote'] I definitely agree the sugar is the culprit! It's the hardest thing to give up but you will feel so much better without it. One thing that concerns me is the type of diet my surgeon is recommending because it's largely "non-food" like sugar free Jello and sugar free fudgesicles. I plan on asking the nutritionist if I can have pureed vegetables, because the original plan is a 2 week liquid diet!
