Hi destynee I have this one at home and it has served me well. http://www.amazon.com/MaxiMatic-EPB-1800-300-Watt-17-Piece-Personal/dp/B001ASAVPA/ref=pd_sim_sbs_k_6

I used it for my medifast while I was preparing for surgery and it blended and crushed ice great! I also used it to puree meat, vegetable, Soups, stews etc.

The bullet is good for puree and blending, it does not crush ice, it just spins it, unless you let it run forever and then it isn't slushy, just more Fluid. I like my bullet except for the lack of ice crushing.

Really?! Maybe u were using the wrong blade attachment I used it to crush ice to make my Protein shakes everyday 3x a day and it worked great. I would even fill the cup with ice then brew a small coffee over the ice add more ice the Protein powder and make an iced coffee it was delicious and worked excellent. Most come with 2 blade attachments u have to use the bigger blades for ice...

Nope, I have 2 blades, use the larger one and it just spins the ice. I have to sit there a pulse it or let it run til it disintegrates the ice and there is not even slush. I like it otherwise. but never get crushed ice.

I, too, have an off brand magic bullet type blender and love it for pureeing and I make my shake in the morning and it crushes the ice. Not sure why it didn't work for one of the other posters but it works for me. :) I was lucky enough to come across mine at a garage sale for $5.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
