Could We Eat Club Crackers

Recommended Posts

Ask your doctor? I'm sure he gave you a diet to follow? Every doctor's protocol will be different and they even change it to fit each individual patient since we all come in different sizes and complexities.

Since the goal of a pre-op diet is usually to reduce the size of your liver, I'm thinking anything with processed flour in it would be a no-no. Most programs want you on a low carb diet and crackers aint on the list.

I would say no. As mentioned above most doctors are basically doing a high Protein low carb preop,. Club Crackers are high carb. Basically your body prefers to burn carbs, protein, fat (in that order). If you only feed it protein it is forced to move on to fat. In general crunchy, salty things are trigger foods for me. I don't keep chips, crackers in my house (2 years post op).

ligures only, protien shakes that is all I was told to have the wseek b4...there was some many date changes for my surgery I didnt do it. But i am sure it has to do the size you are now and there guess at the size of the liver. I need to loss 100 lbs and only needed the 10 cc band so there was no problem. Stick to what you doctor said that is always the best advise.

My pre-op diet was. "Try to lose some weight before surgery" No guidelines set.

If you are not on liquids, this is just my opinion, I say as long as you are staying with in a calorie amount to lose weight there would be nothing wrong with a few. They also make lots of "baked" crackers and low fat. I LOVE Pepridge Farm 4 cheese baked naturals - YUMMY

Good Luck on your surgery!!!!! So exciting!

I had no pre op diet but post op I munch on beef Jerky when I feel the need to chew. Of course, if you're supposed to be on a liquid diet that won't work. But, after surgery, you won't be doing a whole lot of chewing so keep that in mind? Other chewy food would be deli ham, turkey, beef? Keep it low cal and it's naturally low carb.

I don't know if I could have them but I have been living on them for 2 weeks now. They do have reduced fat ones that are pretty good.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
