Hi everyone, this is my first post. I was banded Monday and feeling sick today. I don't know if it's the SF stuff or what! I've been drinking about 1.5 bottles of water/day and a couple of Popsicles and some broth in the evening. Oh, and I was able to get down some Greek yogurt today. Just wondering if feeling sick was normal 3 days after surgery? Thanks:)

I had a few waves of it i was banded the 12th of this month. Try just sitting or laying down for a few mins until it passes. Hope this helps a little!

sounds like to me you might be dehydrated, up your Water intake, try sipping all day. Also I got extremely constipated from the anesthesia and pain meds and didn't go for 5 days and that made me nauseated, just a thought. Hope you feel better soon. It does get better!

Did your dr give you any chewable Zofran? If not, call and ask for some. It will really help! Also my anesthesiologist explained to my husband that the more fat one has on their body, the more the anesthesia is absorbed. So, it takes us chubby people longer for it to get out of our system....and could still be causing us to feel ill from it...even days later.

But up your Water too!

I also felt nauseous and I think it was from all the sweet stuff. I had some homemade veggie Soup and after that i felt much better, that at least tasted like food.< /p>

I took the prescription anti nausea, the Gasx strips and this last time I wore the Sea Bands. The are just wrist bands that work, well

Sit on your wrist pressure points. Moving every hour for 5 mins will help too even though it doesn't seem it, good luck!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
