When And How Do You Take Your Vitamins?

Recommended Posts

I am the world's worst about remembering to take my Vitamins because I am under the impression they need to be taken with food so by the time I remember I've eaten and then can't drink for an hour and then I forget. I have a multi vit., Calcium, Vitamin D because I'm dificient in that, Biotin. When do you take yours and do you take it on an empty stomach first thing in the morning?

Thanks

Take mine in the morning with a Protein Shake, then take an additional Calcium & Multivitamin 2 hours prior to going to bed.

I take mine after dinner as sometimes in the mornings I find I'm a bit tighter, by night time I'm fine and have no problems taking any if my Vitamins without crushing them. I take two Swiss women's Vitamin capsules, Biotin and Vitamin D with Calcium ( those ones are large but they go down ok).

My dietician said if I were to have problems taking any medication to try a bit of yoghurt with them to help them slide through the band.

we all are different but here is how i do mine

i have my Vitamins by my bathroom sink

(next to all my make me gorgeous stuff)

its part of my routine (i also drink my Protein shake so its not really on an empty stomach). my Vitamins are chewable (the Iron pills are very small and i can swallow easily but easy to cut in half if need be)

you need to make yourself take your vitamins (like remembering to put underwear on)

well, for those who wear underwear that is.........

Summerrain, I did take mine one time at dinner and it like kept me up at night, almost like it gave me energy so I really don't want to do that again. I really don't find myself tight in the mornings and usually eat Cereal, Fiber One Bar, egg and toast but like I said by the time my hour is up I have forgotten to take my Vitamins and then I look up and it's 3 or 4 o'clock and my stomach is empty again. I will try and do better as I need these vitamins very badly I know! Like many of you have suggested setting an alarm on my phone will probably do me good.

Thanks for all your suggestions and comments.

Donna

I take my Gummy multi in the morning... they basically dissolve so my tight morning band tolerates it. I take my Biotin in the evening.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
