andrew2780 2 Posted October 18, 2012 Was fine for the first couple of days, but the gas pains seem to be getting the better of me. At least I think it's gas, pain seems to start right around where my port is and travels up to my left shoulder. Pain feels like someone is in there with a knife just twisting it around, anybody else think this is gas,or am I just going nuts! By the way I was banded on October 11, so these odd pains are new to me.

Domika03 309 Posted October 18, 2012 This is very normal as they blow air into your stomach during surgery to move around in there. Try burping if you can. My husband said I burped like a sailor the first week. I used a heating pad and between that and letting the air out by burping, it wasn't that bad. Hang in there. It gets better.
