mkb805 23 Posted October 17, 2012 I was scheduled on Tuesday to get the gastric sleeve. I started freaking out the night before and was not mentally able to go in. I called and asked if I could get lap band instead so tomorrow is the big day. Really looking forward to it. I think the lap band is right for me.
elgrande 55 Posted October 17, 2012 MK good luck to whatever you decide to get and dont forget, the band is just a tool, you still have to put in the work. 4 dee257, destynee1, mkb805 and 1 other reacted to this

mkb805 23 Posted October 18, 2012 I am really looking forward to this. Little nervous. I never had any kind of surgery. But I feel better knowing they are not taking out 85% of my stomach. I am just thankful my insurance let me do this last minute. Gotta be at the hospital tomorrow at 9:30. This clear liquid diet is miserable! Cant wait to become more active and learning better nutrition. 1 elgrande reacted to this

destynee1 417 Posted October 21, 2012 I had a hard time choosing between the sleeve and the band.. and I choose the band as well! I just find it more comforting that this can be reversed if need be, and you get fills through the year to make sure you keep on track with some restriction. I wish and will pray for you a speedy recovery!! I get mine on monday morning 8am!! Just remember this will all be worth it in the end. 1 mkb805 reacted to this
mkb805 23 Posted October 21, 2012 Good luck on your surgery Destynee1! I was on the verticalsleevetalk.com site and the night I tripped out and was like "Im getting lapband instead" I got so many negative comments it just made me want to get this and prove that I can lose weight. I wish you the best! Let me know how you do Monday! Ill be thinking about you!!! 1 destynee1 reacted to this
destynee1 417 Posted October 21, 2012 Thank you!! and I will! and people will bad talk every surgery! My mother's best friend had the sleeve done, and has had it for a year now, and has lost about 40lbs which isn't much at all, all these things are tools it's the person who will make it successful.. she would test how much she can eat.. and defeats the whole purpose. You can go back there and prove them all wrong!! infact I will go with ya! and be like Yaaaaaah!! haha! 1 mkb805 reacted to this
