jmont 13 Posted October 31, 2012 Lilbrigy' date=' You will be fine. I was scared to death, but it was not bad at all. The will put a numbing spray on your port and then inject saline. Then you will drink some Water to make sure you can swallow it ok. Let them know how hungry you have been and how long between meals. Your goal shouldn't be to always get fills, but to get to the point where you aren't physically hungry all the time and can be satisfied for several hours at a time. Good luck! Let me know how you do![/quote'] Great advice!! Just to add to that I find I don't get restriction straight away it usually kicks in the next day for me so when I sip my water after fill I can do it easily the next day is the next day everyone is different! It happen to me recently I walked out of the Dr office feeling good the next day could barely swallow I had to go back 4 days later to get some out! SueBee is so right you have to find your comfort spot they may take a few goes! But keep getting your fills done this will be what makes you successful good luck getting your fills does not hurt either and it's all very quick!

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk[/quote'] Itchy incisions is a sign of healing! Look for redness and discharge and call doctor if you have some. They may want to look at them. vms1908 15 Posted October 31, 2012 I have a question, banded on Oct. 25th, no incision pain, no abdominal pain, I do however have horrible shoulder and left upper chest pain. It comes in waves, and is a sharp pain, usually double over. It doesnt matter if I am walking or laying or sitting, it just comes on. Saw Dr, he unfilled my band, but pain still there. Anyone else have this? Any suggestions?

Gas gives you discomfort but that shooting pain you get on your left shoulder is different. I would see stars. Check out the thread " shoulder pain- revealed " the comments on there will clarify better. I had the same pain and I have a high tolerance usually but if I would bend forward I thought I would pass out. I asked my dr at my post op appt and he explained it to me. He also prescribed gel cap Advil. Call yours and ask. Heating pads help too!
vms1908 15 Posted October 31, 2012 Thanks for the replies. I called and left them a message. I dont get pain when I bend, its just anytime in any position. Really feels like I need to burp, but I cant burp. Will see what he says. I have high tolerance for pain too, but this really stops me in my tracks. Been using heating pad, and gas pills, but its still there.

My doctor said it is from the gas they use in surgery and it will work out of you in about a week to 10 days. try to walk or move your arms when it hits. 1 destynee1 reacted to this

georgeileen 23 Posted November 1, 2012 I'm Going to see my doctor tomorrow I have severe pain too and I think it's gas but it's all on my left side so good luck and keep us posted 1 destynee1 reacted to this
MiniMi 1,468 Posted November 1, 2012 Dr ordered a CT scan on my way now Wow! Keep me posted. So for all those who are saying it's gas and normal, if it were normal there would have been no CT ordered. Shooting pain, seeing stars, is not a normal gas pain. Hope all works out or you, I feel your pain...literally! 1 kyrasgrandma reacted to this
