I have a halloween party to go to Sat night. I'm pretty excited because I'll get to dance & socialize!

While I'm not a big drinker, I would like to be able to have 'something.' This party is at a hotel so they should have a decent selection.

Any suggestions out there?

BE CAREFUL!! They are not lying when they say the alcohol will effect you differently after the band! A few sips will feel like you drank 2 glasses!!! Go SLOW!!! And make sure you have someone there who will take care of you!!

Oh, I'm going with my hubby, and Lord knows he's going to make sure I'm ok with anything I drink. HUm, or maybe he'll want me buzzed... LOL .... ;)

I don't want to put anything with soda in my drink but I kinda like the Vodka & crystal light. I'm sure I'd be sipping that all night :-)

Crystal light comes in individual packets so you can mix it easily enough. Something else I tried once was vodka and Water with a splash of orange and cranberry juice. The splash isnt enough to count and just track the vodka calories for your daily allowances,

Have fun

The only problem is I'm going out to a little dive bar that won't have wine. As far as crystal light no bar around me has that either. So what's the best when you don't want soda or any carbonation. Do you bring your own crystal light and mix it with vodka? I want to know what you all do when you go out

I have actually mixed crystal light in a water bottle and given it to the bartender to use to mix my drink. Or less obvious keep it in your purse and order vodka on the rocks and a tall glass of ice on the side. The vodka will come in a short glass so you can transfer into the tall one and add the crystal light from your purse. If its a dive bar they won't care

Crystal light actually makes margarita flavor drink. You could make that & add the tequila! Jose Cuervo also makes a light, alcohol included, margarita mix. It's Delish! I haven't had it post wls but it was a staple pre- wls.

Have fun! Remember to drink lots of Water & stay away from the Scooby snacks!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
