angiebell 0 Posted March 30, 2006 I went to the fill center on Tuesday because I could not eat or drink. I was miserable. Good thing was that I has lost to 159lbs. Bad thing is that I was starving myself to death. Not to mention I was getting dehydrated. I begged the tech not to take out too much. I asked her to only take .1 and she tried but the baruim was still backing up. They tried having me stand to see if it would go down. that didn't work. They took .2 so now I am at 1.3 in my band. I am very frustrated with my fills and I expressed this to them. I am going to have an EGD on next Thursday to see what is going on with my band. I will be fine for about 1 to 1 1/2 months after a fill and then all of a sudden I am closed off completely. Possible cause they say could be a hiatal herniea (sp?). I guess I will know more on Thursday.
lianna 3 Posted March 31, 2006 If you are so tight that you are .1-.2ccs away from being totally shut, is it possible that you ate something that caused swelling? Even minor irritation could cause enough swelling to make it miserable.....just a thought.
angiebell 0 Posted April 4, 2006 Sorry I was out of town and did not have email access. I don't think it was any one thing specific that I ate. I did get swollen from excessive PBing. I still have pretty good restriction even with the unfill. I am having to watch what I eat and trying to make good decisions. My appetite is coming back. There for a while...nothing sounded good to me. I was living mostly on Soup and a little tuna salad. I'll let you know what my endo says on Thursday. Hopefully there is not a hiatal hernia. the best me 6 Posted April 4, 2006 I'll be looking for an update, Angiebell. Take care of yourself and that band, okay? Too tight is not a good banded life! Fine for weight loss, but the expense is too great. Keep that banded tummy healthy! Less fill and proper eating (not Soups and mushies all the time) is healthier weight loss. Keep us updated, okay? (((hugs)))
shanna 0 Posted April 4, 2006 I've been in your shoes many times. Having to go back and forth for more and more unfills is horrible. But it is very important to take care of your body and get that fill out if you can't eat/drink. Being too tight can cause real problems. I went back and forth with being too tight for 3 months now I don't have a band at all because it slipped. So take good care of yourself - you should not be in constant pain with this band. You may need a large unfill for 2 weeks - then go back in for a good fill you can work with. I'll be thinking about you... Good luck!
angiebell 0 Posted April 4, 2006 Thanks for your support. I do feel so much better since I had some of my fill removed. I will update after the endo and let you know how everything goes. When I had the unfill under fluro it appears that the band has not slipped. Thank God for that! :high5:
