Ok so I know everyone's recovery time is different but I only want to take 2 weeks or less off of work. How long did you take off ? What is your occupation?

Thank you for asking! I just joined and I was curious how long recovery was too. I have a desk job and was hoping 4-5 days.. is that too optimistic I wonder?

Excellent question!

Banded 10/8 ... Back to work 10/15.... I have a desk job and I've been absolutely fine. Living in new york mass transit (1 hr 30 commute each way) and all and haven't had a problem..except with gas but that's tolerable at this point..

Good luck!!

I'm a nurse...Originally I took 2 wks...had a hernia repair and 3 days after surgery, started having shortness of breath....I was placed on bed rest n had to take an extra 4 days...so 18 days all together. I'm back to work tomorrow and still not a 100%, but will take it very slow. It all depends on luck when it comes to recovery.

I had surgery April 11, 2012. Initially, I scheduled off that Wednesday with intents of returning to work at 1:00 pm that Friday. I was feeling great but my boss decided to throw in the day for me. I returned to work that Monday and began working out that same day..

i am a cashier/bookeeper/manager in a hardware store,my typical work day consists of sitting at my desk for a few hrs, then running around the store for a few hrs, with some light lifting...i took 11 days off(today was actually my first day back, and i didnt do much more than stand around all day!!)....i was fine except that i was very, very tired...after work,i came home and put my feet up for a bit, then i was fine!!

Another RN here. Surgery 10/8. Back at work 10/16. I haven't been positioning too many patients and I keep bumping my port incision against the bed rails because I'm short. Otherwise I feel great!!!!

Hello everyone! I just got banded on October 26th. I am a charge nurse at a local hospital. I was under the assumption that I would return back to work after a few days, especially since I was not told otherwise. I later found out that I can return to work 10 days later with the following restrictions- no lifting, bending, pushing, or pulling. In short, I still cannot go back to work and I have not been given a full release date... Absolutely love the band! Will definitely avoid making assumptions in the future.

I'm a charge nurse too and I went back to work after 18 days.....

I am about 5 weeks post-op; I still don't really do any heavy lifting, I just ask my staff to re-position what ever is heavy I just tell them I needed them to do it due to recent surgery....and they understand. Special after I had a bad SOB experience after surgery...believed to be as a result of me doing too much too soon after surgery lol....so now, I am taking it easy.....

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
