Respiratory Infection Post Recent Banding

Recommended Posts

I was banded 3 weeks ago 9/24/12 and have a respiratory infection. I am coughing a lot with a fever. My stomach is rumbling with sharp pains. I feel that there is something stuck in my throat. Has Anyone had a similar experience or recommendations ?

Oh no, I'm so sorry!

What phase of the post op diet on you on?

I'd be willing to bet the stuck in your throat feeling is due to a combination of things- phlegm and coughing causing throat irritation and swelling, and coughing also "jarring" the band and causing further irritation as well as the sharp pains.

If you don't already have a strong cough suppressant, I'd ask your doctor for one.

Feel better soon.

I am on the puréed/mush stage, but haven't had any appetite so mostly liquid, I did try a couple of broth soaked crackers to help with the hungry rumbling feeling, but haven't really found anything that is helping other that Tylenol.
