JanetC 2 Posted March 30, 2006 Surgeons & surgical teams have seen it all, believe me. Just let them know... they'll either tell you to use a tampon, or give you "special" underwear, or put a big ol' heavy, thick pad between your legs. Not the optimal solution, but no reason to cancel a surgery! ((Hugs!!)) and good luck!
gentlespirit 1 Posted March 30, 2006 Not a problem...just let them know. They've dealt with that problem before, for sure. Best of luck with your surgery! Emily

lianna 3 Posted March 30, 2006 I was on my period and it made no difference. They are very used to this, it affects the surgery in no way.
Anwyn 0 Posted March 31, 2006 I was on my period for my band surgery too. Don't worry about it - like everyone else has said it won't make a difference. And if you're crampy, there's always the morphine pump!
SRaeM 0 Posted April 18, 2006 Having it during my monthly posed no problems other than my anxiety which proved totally uncalled for.
