I'm Eating Normal???

Recommended Posts

WOW!! I have never posted or ask any questions on this site. Honestly I am a little afraid to. Is seems like there are a lot of very rude women on here. Reminds me high school.

Ah don't worry! They are all harmless but passionate people! I'm fairly knew here but I've found more useful than harmful comments. Thanks to you all!! ( maybe they all need a cookie ;)) )

I cannot think of a time that I have had anyone be rude to me.

I think the problem is that most of us are, well, women. With hormones. We *sometimes* take comments and post in a way that they we not meant. Maybe when we fire back it is that time of the month, we havnt had a time of the month in a few years, had a bad day, the list goes on.

What I'm saying is most of the time when threads get out of hand its because of a misunderstanding and maybe, just maybe some bad attitudes.

There is something that I would like to add and hopefully this is sensible and not just more trying to have the last word.

SOMETIMES THE MARKETING AND THE REALITY ARE DIFFERENT

When I was first banded I was told that the band would prevent me from eating too much. I was told that overeating would make me sick but it was also noted in several places that vomiting was not normal.

What I discovered was that if I attempted to overeat I would be very uncomfortable. That sometimes it was not possible to tell what was enough and what was too much until it was too late. I also found that I quite often got a very full uncomfortable feeling in my throat that felt as though food was sitting there although apparently this is a referred sensation from pressure on the vagus nerve. I didn't like any of these sensations and for me they were not what I had been told that eating after being banded would be like but I was banded' date=' it was working and if that was the reality then so be it. It would have just been nice if the Drs had given a more accurate picture. Also that was back in the old days when we were told that the food sits in your pouch and only moves through the stoma really slowly.

The new line that is being spun is actually quite hard to swallow ( excuse the pun). The way it is stated it actually sounds like a cross between utopia and/or the band doing nothing. I am still not sure which it is.

The bottom line is that you are not supposed to be so tight that you have a huge list of things that you cannot eat, but you should be able to get sufficient feedback from your band that you know that it is working. If you don't then the whole thing is rather pointless.[/quote']

After sifting through the drama of this forum, I find this post the most relevant to me and my current

experiences. Thanks elcee for getting us back on topic. :-)

Seems to me that the sugar withdrawals have a negative effect on some' date=' more so than others.

Amen to that!

Thanks, Elcee, I needed that laugh!

Awwwww.... we are all ok, young and old. We all have opinions and ya, maybe sometimes we keep saying the same thing over and over but it's what we believe and what has worked for us, we are all just trying to help.

The written word can be interpreted so differently by different people and much more can be read into comments and sometimes it just gets a little out of hand... other times someone just "bugs" you and ya gotta say it.

We are all here for the same reason and I will say this forum has motivated me, helped me and at times, irritated the hell out of me. Sort of like an old friend.

Did I say it was in this thread ??? Maybe a general blanket statement . MYODB

Thanks :)

Not appropriate to make your "own rules" on a public forum...the forum exists and operates for all who choose to participate. And, like a democracy, there will be different perspectives. What is different is not necessarily wrong...

If you want to make questionable posts, send a PM...

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
