Are You Dressing Up For Halloween?

Recommended Posts

I'm one of those weirdos that don't like Halloween. I tolerate it for my kids but that's the extent of it.

If I were going to dress up... I'd be a Shar Pei puppy. I mean, hell, I already have the loose, wrinkly, sagging skin like a Shar Pei! ;)

My sick mind thought about dressing up in a fat suit.... but that quickly passed. It would be funny though to hear all those people who were like... you you took the easy way out to be like...see she gained it all back... in such a short time too.... LOL

Anyway we are going to be on vacation for the 2 Sat night Halloween parties we got invites for and I dont normally dress up to give out candy so I dont think I will be anything this year.

Aargh. Halloween is not an Australian celebration yet it has really caught on in th past decade. I have never let my kids trick or treat, without the whole tradition it boils own to annoying the crap out of people banging on their doors asking for food.

My nine year old is desperate though. But I will NOT dress up!

I wish that Aussies did Celebrate Halloween as I love it. When I lived in South Africa it had just started to catch on there which was great. I am very much a traditionalist though - if I was to dress up for Halloween it would have to be as a witch, ghost, devil or similar - I don't get dressing up as Princesses, Super Heroes, bob the Builder etc. To me that is not Halloween.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
