Well if burping is the only thing you're dealing with consider yourself lucky..lol..could have been a lot worse...I had severe chest pains that just subsided last night. Had my band since Oct 5.

No worries my dear, that's very normal. My husband said I burped like a sailor, and he was right. The good news is that burping is GOOD. It helps get all the gas out. I was letting out some good burps for about a week.

I was banded on the 5 th also. When I bend down I have a shooting pain at the top of my left shoulder still. (Where the bra strap would be) it is so crazy painful and by far the biggest problem I've had yet. I may be a little behind but I went on my first 20 min walk today.

Good to know it's not just me & my body bing weird. I had to have my priming saline removed at week two post op because the burping progressed to severe chest pain. Couldn't even deal with pressure from a sports bra. Doc says most likely my stomach swelled inside the band make things worse.

Been kinda Bah-Hum-Buggie since he removed that saline. Haven't been staying full since my purée diet was falling straight through. It's subsided some since I started soft solids but still not staying full/content. Haven't thought about smoking since I quit for my surgery and I've been thinking about them for days to avoid eating more than I should. Need to hang on till I can get a fill & keeping myself busy. Harder to do since husband is traveling a lot this month & it's just me & the kiddos. One. Which is a cranky teen boy :(

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
