Yes, sweets go down entirely too easily, but how to get away from them depends on a things that we don't know about you. Are you making them, buying them and bringing them home or to work, telling yourself you're buying them for your family, sneaking them, etc. etc.? Are you attending a WLS support group? Have you considered attending an OA (Overeaters Anonymous) meeting where you can find a sponsor or some new friends you can call when the sweets are calling you?

Don't buy them ,don"t smell them, don't taste even a littlle bit . If you can't handle sweets then just don't have them around. Your kids don't need them nor does your husband if they need something sweet let them go out and have it .

I use to eat sweets all the time my go to food was chocolate now I can take it or leave it . It just doesn't appeal to me a little bit is more then I want I find when you STOP eating sugar it loses it's hold on you.......

You have to go cold turkey and never eat it again. I can't and won't I have worked to hard to have sugar of any kind. As a matter of fact I was in chili's today eating a grilled chicken salad and the waitress told me if you fill out this card you can get free Desserts and appetizers and I told her I eat neither. I never order and appetizer or do I eat any sweets ever. Its all about what you want. Giving up sugar will help speed up your weight loss

Because sweets are from the devil.lol

I can't control myself with sweets. I can have them in the house for hub (he's of normal size), but I can not let any touch my tongue. It does something to my brain.

There are ppl who can eat just a little, but I'm not there yet. :*(

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
