I really dislike the Easter season for one little reason....CADBURY CREME EGGS! I mean really...how disgusting are these things...yet I can not resist them. Ugh! I have eaten three in the last two days...even though they are fattening and they make me want to puke! Sorry...I just needed to vent....mostly because there is still one more in the kitchen taunting me! :faint:

Ymmm! What is it about them that you can't just eat one? I mean I don't see myself over eating carrots or brocoli...

I wonder why things that are so bad for you are what really draws us to "not just eat one"

They get me every year two. I have had 2 in the last few weeks, and I have one sitting on my desk at work that's been there since Monday. Not TOO bad, but maybe one year I can just avoid them altogether, lol.

Guilty! I also have one in my cupboard. My kids ate the other 3. Yeah, that's it - the kids. Okay, it was me! I'm supposed to be on mushies too... chocolate is a mushy if you let it melt in your mouth, right?!

Damn eggs - they don't even taste good if you think about it, but there's something about knowing you CAN'T have one until next Easter. And why do they come in packages of 4?! Sorry to rant - I guess you touched a nerve. :)

They don't always come in packs of 4....now they sell the mini eggs in packs of 12...and you can always buy them out of the big bins that have...oh probably 100 eggs in them! It is a damn conspiracy or something. Glad I'm not the only one with a problem...he he he!

My weakness isn't the Cadbury eggs...........it's those delectable REESE's eggs. The darn things come by the bag full. OH my that peanutbutter center covered by rich milk chocolate. My mouth is waterin'.......OH, OH, OH AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

I gotta have one now. Wait, I don't have any in the house! (panic)........(comes to senses) maybe that's a good thing.

I don't seem to care about the eggs but just about everything else seems to haunt me. I get my first fill on Weds and I sure hope I can get my attitude adjusted too.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
