Randi Cartmill 23 Posted October 13, 2012 I have been so afraid to swallow solid food I live on Protein Shakes, yogurt, Soup, saltine crackers, cottage cheese and that's about it. Its been 8 almost 9 weeks and I can't get over this fear of it hurting it getting stuck (yes I take tiny bites I use a baby spoon and fork and I chew every vote to a liquid mush) I'm losing an average of 5lbs a week , work out 6 days a week and make sure I get all Mt Protein in everyday fun the stuff I'm not afraid to eat.. I had a fill wed. Which I don't think I needed but she put 1cc in and I'm doing fine with what I do eat but I'm wondering if I'll ever get over this fear.. I love my band and the constant weight I'm losing but I'm terrified of it!!! Is there anyone else with this issue or fear?? I'm down 38 since surgery 58 total since pre OP diet and I only have 65 more to lose..
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted October 13, 2012 The problem is, the way you're losing is very unhealthy. I also fear that once you go back to real food, you'll have a gain, because your metabolism getting so out of whack. I would strongly suggest talking to your surgeon and making him aware of exactly what you're eating (not eating) and the fear you're dealing with. Let him help you through this. 3 Maddysgram, 2muchfun and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
mas79 15 Posted October 13, 2012 Way to go! I was fearful in the beginning but now not so much. I've had a few stuck episodes and have just learned to eat slower. My stuck episodes are from eating to fast. I cut everything small and chew chew chew. But I get in to big a hurry sometimes. Congrats on the great loss!!! Pick something easy, tiny bites and chew. Like CG said, you cannot live your whole life that way. Start with solids one meal a day. You WILL have a stuck episode, everyone does, but you know right away what you did and you won't ever do that again. Live it up and don't be overcome by a little bitty band! 3 Maddysgram, ☠carolinagirl☠ and LouisianaLiLi reacted to this
2muchfun 8,927 Posted October 13, 2012 Getting stuck now and then really isn't a big deal. This will sound crazy but you need to get stuck once or twice just to see what it is. It's not all that bad. I don't recommend anyone make a habit of it but if some stupid fear of something as minor as a stuck episode is creating your phobia, get over it and eat a chicken breast or a good steak tmf 2 LouisianaLiLi and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
