Gramlast Weigh In Complete. Now The Wait...

Recommended Posts

So I have just completed my 6 month medically supervised weight loss progam. I lost 20 lbs in the last 6 months, not bad! But, I'm feeling a little anxious about the (Aetna) insurance approval. I'm sure it will go off without a hitch but I keep thinking that there will be a name mispelled or number inverted somewhere on my file that will cause my insurance to reject me. Sigh... I'm sure it's all in my head, but I need it all out! Meanwhile, what types of things do people do to prepare themselves for surgery? Any tips, tricks, suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Just realized I typed. "Gramlast" not quite sure what that means! Oops. I meant "Last"

Anywhoo-- thanks a lot. How did you gain? Do you have a goal weight loss for approval?

I knew what you meant ;-)

We didn't really set a goal weight loss for the six month diet. They actually told me at the beginning my bmi was just barely qualifying so if I lost too much weight I would be denied. I wasn't concerned with that because the way I saw it, if I was able to lose weight during the diet visits, maybe I didn't need surgery after all. So I tried. And yo-yoed like I always have.

I think a big part of my struggle is that my PCP started me on Paxil for anxiety and depression about five months ago. A major side effect from that is weight gain, so I'm hoping my insurance company sees it like that.
