ccreekmore 1 Posted October 11, 2012 I got denied today! I am so down! I called the insurance company due to a letter I got in the mail saying the approval was pending. They denied me stating " lack of medical nessecity " and said I need to provide more documentation regarding support groups and exercise.plans tried. I had included info about gym memberships and weight watchers among info on many other diets and weight loss attempts. I have 45 days to appeal but I tell ya, the insurance company has just about stole my thunder by denying me.
CatLady0626 45 Posted October 12, 2012 I'm so sorry to hear that, I'm sure it's disheartening. What is your insurance company? You could always try to appeal. Best wishes, hang in there.

Who is your insurance carrier? Did you gather medical documentation from old Dr's? I literally got medical records from every Dr I have been to since birth and also got letters from these dr's stating I was a very good candidate for lapband and had tried dr supervised diets to no avail. Don't give up hope, it really is a minor step you need to complete!!! 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
scorrea 95 Posted October 12, 2012 I had to get my primary care docs also to write letters. They take your weight most times you go in there, regardless of whether you are dieting or not, so they should have a record of yo-yos and such. Try that direction, it might help! Good luck! 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
ccreekmore 1 Posted October 12, 2012 Thanks for all the advice. I'll just try to get a good night's sleep tonight and get up with a new attitude tomorrow. I am an RN in a wound care center and I daily see what the effects of being overweight can be if left unchecked. I admit that I want this soooo badly because I would like to be thinner and have improved self-esteem, but I also don't want to start having all the complications that come with obesity. I already have PCOS, high b/p and achey joints. Don't want to add things to the list. Also have 4 year old twin daughters that I want to set a healthy example for!
