Has anyone had surgery at the Northwest Weight loss surgery in Kirkland with Dr. Watkins and Dr. Montgonery?

I would like to know the GOOD and BAD.

Thanks,

Tina

Hi Tina,

Sorry this is a little late in returning but I haven't looked under this heading much. I just had surgery at Evergreen. I work at Evergreen also and know Dr. Watkins and Montgomery very well. In fact Dr. Watkins was the assist on my surgery. He does so well that he was teaching the doctor that did mine. He says his patients have lost over 9,600 pounds in the last year. He is not only a great doctor but a great person as well. His nurse that does the fills has had a band for 5 years. She has perfected the art of fills. I would have went to him but another surgeon I work with wanted to start doing them and I asked if I could be his guinea pig. He is very good laparoscopically and proved just how good when he did 3 lap bands on 3/24. His average time was 60 minutes and I have had very little pain or nausea. They have a great setup at Evergreen and the money you or your insurance pay's to the surgeon also includes the first year of visits and fills. We also started a new program called Reconstructive choices after Massive Weight Loss. This is so exciting because after you lose all the weight you end up with lots of excess skin. Dr. Dry does what is called a Lower body lift where he makes a circumferential incision along the "bikini line" and pulls down the tissue to remove bumps and lumps and pulls up the tissue from the butt and legs. The patients end up looking fantastic and the scar is hidden under bikini bottoms. This is all so exciting to me. I just might get to have a small tight body some time in the future. If you have anymore questions please ask!!!

I went to Dr. Montgomery as did my aunt. He and his staff are wonderful! They are helpful and imformative. I was in and out in about 4 hours and it was $18,500 and that includes a full year of aftercare and fills/unfills. My aunt is the one who recommended him. Until I talked to her I was thinking of RNY. So glad I listened :P

My DH and I both used NWWLS. The whole clinic is great, and Jessie and Debbie, the two fill nurses, are amazing when it comes to fills. I read so many accounts of folks getting fills that I really appricate the care we get at this clinic.

Jessie Ahroni - the RN who is his fill nurse actually 'wrote the book' on living with the lapband. She is an EXCELLENT resource for making your banding experience a 'no-nonsense', but very positive one. I'd say you've hit the jackpot if you can be one of her patients.

I am in the process now with this clinic. I have heard nothing but great things about them and my experience so far is extremely positive. The Doctors have extensive experience and are licensed to do the surgery for several of the large insurers in washington. You can check them out on the eb at http://www.thelapband.com/

They have opened a new facility in Evertt just off of interstate 5. They perform surgery there and at the hospital in evergreen.

They have indeed moved to Everett, in a nice new building. DH was banded by Dr. Mongomery almost 2 years ago, and I'm hoping to be banded by him in Sept. I was VERY impressed by the center and the care DH got. The consultations before surgery were great, we knew what to expect, and the support he's gotten since is great. Everyone there has treated us very well and with respect.

We are both self-pay, so glad the fee covers fills for a year, and I think I heard something about they will do any repairs needed with no fee. (just for the anesthisolgist-SP?)

Hehe, just say the guy with the good drugs, lol, can't speel worth a darn either. And yes they are in Everett and fabulous :)

LOL-I like that. I told a co-worker I was going to do the surgery so I could take a week off with good meds for company. She thinks I'm weird...:)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
