What Does A Tight Band In The Morning Feel Like

Recommended Posts

or can you feel anything. I woke up this morning feeling full, gassy and uncomfortable. I am passing gas like a mad person. If I take a deep breath it feels tight under my chest bone like I feel like I ate too much and have indigestion or I am really hungry, can't decide. I am sure I am freaking a bit and it is just gas (had Beans for dinner last night and they might not be settling with me). I haven't had anything to eat in 12hrs. I haven't tried to eat or drink.

Or.................I am getting the flu that is going around - ugh.

I don't have Fluid in my band, I am only 3 weeks out. I almost feel like I did 2 days post op, just full and gassy........feels better when I stand. I know I am still healing, but I am sure those darn Beans have something to do with it, and I am pretty sure the lunch I grabbed from the fridge has beans in it - yikes, I am sure I can find something else.

I will just take it easy today. I also just moved to my next stage of eating, more solids, meat, crackers etc, so it could just be a shock to the system after being on liquids for over a month.

Thanks ladies

My doctor said that at night when we lay down Fluid pools in our mid sections which puts more presure on the stomach and band so we will tend to fill tighter in the am. I eat Cereal every morning, which most say is a slider, but I love my special K, Protein Shakes give me horrible indigestion so I do cereal. Some don't do anything but Water for the first couple of hours.

Each of us has to decided what works for us. The pressure and all you are discribing does sound like gas pains.

For me I wake up and my first thoughts are not...wow what can I eat....i get my coffee and sit to enjoy it then start to get my 5 lil ones up for school..and when i have to call alil bit louder for them to wake up...i feel a tightness that acually feels good....like a suttle fullness.....I get them all out the door...and usually sit and enjoy a greek yogurt with granola...or some egg whites....

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
