All doctors and insurance companies require different tests pre-op.

not necessarily. I had an EGD because he suspected I had a hernia--which I did and he was able to repair. Not everyone needs one. Good luck tomorrow!!! You'll do great. Be sure to take some socks...the rooms are COLD!!!

Did Dr Reilly do your surgery? Where did you have ur EGD? I'm in Texas now and they have me staying at the hotel but they did not tell me if I go to True Results or medical center

You go to True Results on Main. Go to the 8th floor. I also had my EGD done there in July and was banded in August at the same place.

Bless you!!!!!!! after crying my heart out the on call spoke actually got in touch with the doctor and he told me. I'm just an emotional wreck did this decision of getting the band have anybody else emotional like this days before the surgery?

Do you recall if they gave you a locker for your belongings? I have to take my suitcase because my ride is picking me up from there and I don't want them to tell me I can't have it there.

I did not have a locker but I'm sure there is a place they will let you put your suitcase. It only took about 20 minutes for the EGD to be done. Then I was in recovery for about 30 minutes. Good luck to you in the morning. Keep us posted!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
