Are We Able To Eat popcorn With The Band?! If So Which Phase Would You Suggest Be The Appropriate One??

Yes but only the popcorn you pop yourself. All the store bought ones have too many preservatives, salt. My nutritionist said it can be used as a healthy snack when needed.

I would assume once you are on solids and doing fine with them.

Popcorn can also be classed as a slider food as it melts to nothing and slides right through the band. So even as a healthy snack you need to limit the portion.

Happy popping!!

Nooooooo too much salt!!

If you go to the movies and you have to have popcorn, pop it from home and put it in a ziplock bag, probably cheaper too.

I like the 100 calorie options sold as microwave popcorn. My nutritionist never said not to eat these types of popcorn.

As for movie popcorn, I wouldn't eat that because it is high in calories due to popping in oil. If you get the added butter, it is even worse! I think a small regal cinemas with no butter is around 400-500 calories.

i eat the pop secret 100 cal pop corn (about once a week)

its a small bag (and though the cal is low) it still has sodium which is not good for you but it is very good and very enjoyable. at Walmart, a box of 10 is 4.97 or there abouts.

remember we are not on a diet but it is up to us to choose better

choice items. because we all know theater popcorn with heavy butter

is up there with me meeting the king himself (elvis) in my book :)

popcorn acts like a slider for me... so I just make sure to measure it out. No more than 100 calorie serving. I would think you could eat it when you are on solid foods.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
