14Cc Band Vs. 4Cc Band

Recommended Posts

What is the difference between the two, other than the obvious? How does that affect weight loss and fills? I have the 4 cc band, so I would think I'd need fewer fills. Thanks for any info!

I have a 14cc band and have gotten 2 fills so far a total of 5cc and have very little restrection ,so i will for sure need more fills to get to the green zone and start loseing more weight ! thats the diffrence ! it is frustrating but i will get there it will just take me a little longer ! my Dr. said i needed the larger band since i did have i heidit hernia and my stomach would be more swollen after surgery!

I have a 14cc band and I only have 1 fill so far for a total of 3cc. The doctor pre-filled my band during surgery day of 1.5cc. The top of everyones stomach are different diameters. So this is why they make 8,10,12,14cc bands.

Why do they put such a small amount each fill?

So you don't blow right past the green zone and into the red zone. Some people reach the green zone at 2 or 3cc, while others don't find the green zone til they are 7, 8, 9cc.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
