Just Got Banded & Feeling Great

Recommended Posts

I got banded yesterday morning and I'm doing good so far. I have some gas but not too bad. Very little pain just a little sore. I was cleared to eat today, I had cream of wheat for Breakfast and some Soup for lunch. The food went down well but I got full quickly.

Wow you were banded yesterday and able to eat today. I was banded September 28th and I'm not eating regular foods until October 19th. Right now I'm still doing Protein Drinks for breakfast and lunch and Soup for dinner. Good for you!

Good luck with your surgery tomorrow!! I had gas pain in stomach area and in my shoulder area as well. The stomach gas got better with walking and taking gasx and the shoulder gas went away when I used a heating pad on it overnite. A little soreness at the incision sites and soreness in my chest but with the help of some pain meds it feels a whole lot better which allows me to eat comfortably. Let us know how it goes for you tomorrow.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
