What Happened to This Weight?

Recommended Posts

Dear StrawartS's Body,

Congratulations! We've lost 20 lbs. since being banded. And I thought we couldn't do it - ha! Our weight now is some people's goal weight. We should be overjoyed, right?

But there's just one small problem...where exactly did these 20 lbs. come from? We haven't lost inches or sizes, and no one has noticed our weight loss except the damn scale.< /p>

I think I know the answer. I think this 20 lb. loss comes from the loss of our SOUL, due to the SOUL-SUCKING BITCH we call the LapBand. God forbid it give us ONE MOMENT of peace or one moment of distraction from thinking about it EVERY SECOND OF OUR LIVES.

On the other hand, since we haven't had any non-scale victories, I guess we have to be happy about actually losing weight. Body, keep up the good work...I guess.

Love,

StrawartS's Mind

P.S. I hear people talking about this "exercise" thing all the time. I'm pretty sure that driving over the speed limit doesn't actually count. So get off your lazy ass every once in a while, ok?

Girl you crack me up.

20lbs. is a lot to Celebrate. The inches will start to follow. Hang in there.

And going over the speed limit counts, if you are next to the car running.

Yeah on what you have lost. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Outstanding post!

It had a nice rhythm - excellent use of caps - a nice flow when read aloud - and I could dance to it.

I give it 4 stars!!

What a great idea!!

Here are the specs...

Recording # 1 - slow: formal British accent, 80 beats-per-minute

Recording # 2 - fast: your best Ryan Seacrest impression, 110 beats-per-minute

Recording # 3 - hyper: lungful of helium, 135 beats-per-minute

Recording # 4 - recovery: your best Larry The Cable Guy impression, 48 beats-per-minute

I'll put some nice instrumentation behind it - I think we have a hit on our hands!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
