Symptoms of Band Slipping

Recommended Posts

Thanks so much for the feedback Ladies. I absolutely love Lapbandtalk. I can always come here for resources and knowledgeable people. I am going to start on my Quest to find a doctor here. I really feel the need to see one just to be sure everything is okay. I notice that I only really PB when I eat too fast.

what does PB mean? I newly banded so I guess I'm not familiar.... Also you could try my Dr.'s here in Savannah I understand it's a bit of a comute (I think 2 hrs) but If you're really concerned... I know my Doc. is amazing and so is his partners and staff and if you called them and told them you're worries they will find out what is wrong for sure also there is someone there to answer your questions 24hrs a day so you could call them and tell them your concerns and maybe it's something they know off hand and won't even have to be seen for it OR they could possibly give you a number of a good place to call in Atlanta to handle your concerns so you won't have to drive out of town at all

my Doctor is Dr. Oliver Whipple (he's got an amazing rating on LBT.com you can look him up) and his office number is 912-350-3438 ... remember there is someone there on call 24hrs a day

I found out in January I had a bad slip and that it needed to be removed or fixed I had zero symptoms only thing I noticed was I was getting hungry more often and was able to eat a lot more then I could before. So about 3 weeks ago I had it removed and plan on getting the sleeve next month. If I was you I get Your primary care doctor to get a upper gi done to see if you had a slip. That's how I found out. Maybe they can fax copies of the report to your old surgeon in the other state.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
