Boston Market Sweet Potatoes

Recommended Posts

At this point my only concern is healing properly and having enough calories to provide energy.

Once I'm cleared to eat and work out I'll become more diligent. I'm just trying to survive right now :)

. Yes this is a time to heal.... You should be able to have enery, feel satisfied and lose all while healing. You need to start creating good habits.... I was merely pointing out that particular food was high in calories. I am sure you are following g your drs orders... Best of luck to you. :)

My team said not to worry about carbs and calories in the beggining. You still have to try and choose light and ff items but you can have carbs every now and then.

Amen ! While I am sure everyone has their own advice/opinion , I choose to leave my nutritional guidance to my surgery team, the guy I paid with the PHD ;)

You can also ask them for only the sweet potato part and not the topping which is marshmellow and brown sugar.

While I don't eat white potato very often I think to say you can never eat it again is silly. If I am being super healthy I top a potato with salsa instead of butter and sour cream. Since I normally only eat them at a restaurant (which is very rare) I do add butter since I might as well enjoy it.

I have never been to a Boston Market but now it makes sense why it was so high in calories...the topping and sugar... thanks for that info.

I actually eat white potato several times each week since rice and Pasta arent easy for me to digest for whatever reason. I do limit all starches to 1/4 c whether it be baked, mashed or boiled. And I use butter too. Just a smidge.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
