Lana08 37 Posted October 8, 2012 So I'm 12 days post op...all seems to be healing well I have now noticed last night when lying down that in the area of my largest incision I fell like a weird lump that is about 2 inches long directly under it it's like a bar that's how it feels...does that make sense? Still the only spot I'm really sore and now I'm scared that something's wrong! Like terrified!! Anyone notice this before? Wed will be 2 weeks post op. joannedt 83 Posted October 8, 2012 Sounds like your port. No need to be alarmed. I think most people can feel theirs. Congrats on your surgery! 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
♕ajtexas♕ 3,771 Posted October 8, 2012 Sounds like it's your port. Some people can feel their port (I can). It will be more sore than the other incisions. It is normal. But always check with your doctor to be sure. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
Lana08 37 Posted October 8, 2012 Really?? Ok I thought my port would be more off to the side but my largest incision is more to the front of my stomach it feels like its just below the surface of my skin my husband figures I feel it more because the swelling has gone down. Thanks I hope u guys are right. I am going to call the doc tomorrow morning to make sure. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this

Kime-lou 648 Posted October 8, 2012 Could be your port, or could be scar tissue. I had the same problem and the area hurt when I moved some ways, I was worried so I went to the doctor. They told me it was scar tissue and it would go away in time. It is still there a bit, but it doesn't hurt anymore unless I do major ab exercise.
Rita1576 5 Posted October 8, 2012 That is exactly where my port is-right under the largest incision, toward the middle of my stomach. I go around and make my friends and family feel it 1 Lana08 reacted to this
nursebethie 0 Posted October 9, 2012 My port is where my biggest incision is right in the middle of my stomach i can't feel my port but they say people can congrats on your surgery and wish you the best of luck
MiniMi 1,468 Posted October 9, 2012 My port is in the same place, smack in the middle! I opted for the realize band because the port is thinner. It takes longer to get the right fill but it is less rigid that the lap band. My surgeon attached it under the facia and used mesh to keep it from flipping. So it's closer to the surface than the lap band but flat. Dr. Coirin and Modesto memorial hospital are the BEST.
