caseyp 89 Posted October 9, 2012 I started my journey in about March or April. Shortly thereafter I started reducing my insulin. I was completely off of my insulin for at least 2 months before I even had my surgery on Aug 7, 2012. Getting thinner is great, but I cannot express how amazing it feels to know I am healthier. I'm healthier in a real, tangible way. Now, I only take metformin and my blood sugars are consistently very normal. Also, I have always had very irregular to non existent periods. Suddenly, I'm having those again. Good luck in which ever path you choose. It has been a lot of hard work, but I impress myself daily, and I'm so grateful to have this tool to help be a better me!
